Key Professional Achievements
  • 2007/8: awarded Regional Arts Victoria grant for environmental arts project at Seymour Hospital - group initiative of ‘The 3 Graces Arts and Environment projects’. Mural installed Feb 2008.
  • 2002: Asked to join consultant committee on Museums Australia’s new Sustainability Policy – released 2003 (a new initiative for the Australian arts community)
  • March 2000 – Sept 2002 : Appointed inaugural Victorian Representative for Artbank, the Australian Federal Government’s contemporary art rental collection. (see website for more information)
  • From December 2001 Volunteer contributor to the structure of new tertiary course at Mo nash University, Graduate School of Environmental Science: ‘Social and Sacred Ecology’, seeking to explore connections between people, place, meaning and environmental activism. Responsibilities involved organising and running wilderness camp activities and interactive group exercises (course details available on request
  • 1999. Awarded a Museums Australia, Professional Development Grant, for three weeks travel to Scandinavian galleries and museums (assessing public programming and degrees of awareness about the need for Environmental Sustainability in a Museum context), traveled June-July 2000. Research culminated in a written report to Museums Australia (Victorian branch) through Mo nash University, Greening Museums and Galleries, Feb 2001
  • 1999 Invited to curate opening exhibition for newly renovated regional gallery, McClelland Art Gallery. Exhibition, Organic: Sculptural Form / Natural Landscape (catalogue available)
  • 1998. Awarded an Arts Victoria Regional Arts Fund grant to curate the exhibition, Resourceful; An Australian Ethos, Ararat Gallery 1998 (catalogue available)

  • 2000-2002: Inaugural Victorian Representative for Artbank. Key duties: client services, marketing, public presentations, curatorial advise
  • Regular arts reviewer for various newspapers and magazines including The Australian (March 2000 - 2003), The Age (October 1997 – June 1999), The Herald-Sun (May – October 1997) , The Melbourne Times (1993- 4)
  • May 1995 – June 1999. Inaugural Public Program Coordinator, NETS (National exhibitions touring support) Victoria. Key duties: Devising and implementing program of events to promote contemporary art in regional Victoria - included program budget management, professional development for gallery staff, artists activities, forums, lectures, and written educational kits to accompany exhibitions toured by NETS Victoria. Planning and running a program of Professional Development Workshops for Gallery and Museum personnel around Victoria.
  • January 1992 – December 1993. Assistant Curator/ Assistant to the Director, Heide Museum of Modern Art, Bulleen. Key duties: Assisting curator in all aspects of exhibition planning and management, managing gallery volunteers, writing and research, educational talks and publications, public programs, general collection management .
